This extended postpartum package gives you 12 hours of additional postpartum support to receive more one-on-one guidance in lactation, body recovery, baby care, birth debriefing, and home and family care.
Typically, the 12 hours of support is divided into 4 visits each 3 hours long, but longer visits are completely doable if desired. The first visit is within a few days after the birth and is primarily focused on birth debriefing, breastfeeding support, and recovery guidance. Studies show that women who have the space to articulate their birth stories and understand what happened to them have lower rates of PPD.
Subsequent visits can be flexibly used within a month of your birth, though it’s optimal to receive care earlier in the recovery journey. I remain a text away if additional referrals are needed or questions arise through your postpartum journey.
Lactation Support
-
IF YOUR BABY IS ALREADY BORN, lactation consultations can be booked as needed or in a customized 3-6 session package can be arranged. Just contact me :)
If booking prenatally, I offer a full Lactation Support Package that is a 5-session package with robust, on-demand text support and evidence-based infant feeding education from pregnancy to the first 2-3 weeks postpartum.
Session breakdown:
ONE 30-minute prenatal virtual preparation session
TWO 1-hour in-home sessions
TWO 30-min virtual sessions
-
Support begins prenatally with a meeting to learn how breastfeeding works, how birth interventions may have impacts, what to expect and protect in the first breastfeeding sessions, what you and your baby needs are in the first few days after birth, the supplies that you will want to have in the hospital, birth center, & at home, and to help refine you and your families’ expectations around feeding.
-
Once your baby has arrived, I’m available for any questions while you’re still in the hospital or adjusting at home to help guide you through any unexpected circumstances that may impact the early feeding journey. In our in-home visits, we will debrief how you, your partner, and your baby are doing so far and any unique challenges you may be facing, walk through feeding cues and signs of a good latch, practice different positions, review baby’s feeding needs and signs that they are getting enough, walk through pumping and different feeding methods, discuss a feeding/pumping schedule strategy, review how partners can support, review infant massage techniques, and discussing when there may be a need for a referral.
-
Our follow-up sessions will aim to be a space for you to be encouraged and talk through what you’re going through, provide you with evidence-based resources on options, give understanding to know what’s normal and what’s a sign to get more help for you and baby, provide you with strategies for pumping, bottle-feeding, combo-feeding, and formula education, and get you plugged into local breastfeeding peer support groups.

After supporting families through a variety of feeding journeys, I found a wide gap of deficiency in support for so many mothers and babies again and again. They needed so much more information, resources, encouragement, and space to discuss the challenges that are constantly evolving hour-by-hour with their newborn. They needed more than check-ins at their pediatrician, an IBCLC visit, and more breastfeeding training and time than a birth & postpartum doula could provide. I decided to get more training and complete the Lactation Counselor Training Course through Healthy Children, Inc and get certified through ALPP. In becoming a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor, I wanted to focus on filling the gap that many families face in the critical first 2-3 weeks postpartum. This package was designed to specifically support mothers early in their infant feeding journey when evidence-based practices and information is crucial to breastfeeding (also, bottle & pumping) and the wellbeing of mother and baby. When encouragement, knowledge, and options need to just be a text away because you and your baby can’t wait till next week’s appointment. The most common time for families to stop breastfeeding is between day-3 to day-7 and studies show that’s primarily due to issues that could be resolved by knowledgeable and readily available support. Choosing to include a CLC to your postpartum care team adds a personally invested, caring, & readily available support person to you and your family.
Postpartum Support
-
Postpartum packages are curated to uniquely fit your family's needs with the amount and span of care that you would like. This could look like 16 hours over 2 weeks or 100 hours over 3 months or anything in between! There is a package minimum of 18hrs total and each visit has a duration minimum of 3hrs. If I am not serving as your birth doula, a 60-minute prenatal session will be added to your package total so we can do a walk-through of your space and put together a postpartum plan for the family. This prenatal session will include several resources and handouts on postpartum expectations, baby care, nutrition, and breastfeeding.
Often families don’t know exactly how much support they will need, so during our initial interview consult, I will ask you a series of questions to determine where there may be gaps in your support system. Then we will explore options that I have found work well together.
Postpartum support can look like a variety of things for each family, but ultimately I am there to serve you and your family through your transition of welcoming your new baby into daily life, supporting your physical recovery and your mental wellbeing, and your infant feeding journey. Below is some insight into how I could support you as your postpartum doula:
